Maus Activity Part 2

Heylo guys so I’m back to do the second part of the assignment for the book Maus.

Write an overall impression of what Vladek went through in Auschwitz and how it changed him. How has it affected Artie and Francoise?

Vladek went through a lot in Auschwitz. He struggled a lot there but it made him who he is. His time in Auschwitz is a big part of his life. Vladek stayed the caring, kind, helping man he was. As a Jew, he was worth nothing so he had to become resourceful to make a living. Some of his talents also showed because he would help the people in Auschwitz and get food, better clothes and wouldn’t have to struggle and eventually die. This didn’t really affect Francoise but it did affect Artie. He felt depressed and sad that he didn’t get to listen to his mothers side.

Well, my class has finally finished reading the two books and I have to say I quiet like it. Thank you to Mr.Hays^. Also you guys should give this Book a try, it’s amazing! I am very sad for all the people who died due to the war, you could call it between the Jews and Germans!
Anyways…that is all for this blog post, See ya next time^💕👋

Maus Activity Part 1

Hello everyone…so today I have a class assignment! I read a graphic memoir called Maus and I have chapter questions that I have to answer so lets just get right into it.

Chapter 1

Why does Art Spiegelman use mice instead of people to portray the characters in the story? What do the mice represent?

  • He used mice instead of people to hid their identity from the people.
  • The mice represent the Jews.

Chapter 2

Why does Ms.Stefanska go to jail? What role did Anja play in Ms.Stefanska going to jail?

  • Ms. Stefanska went to jail because she hid some comunist papers.
  • The role that Anja played was that she was the one who gave her the papers and told her to hide it.

Chapter 3

What does Vladek mean on page 50, when he says, “Well at least I did something.” Do you believe that he is justified in feeling this way? Explain.

  • Vladek means that killing one of the Nazi’s men, he did some what of a service and didn’t leave the body.
  • I don’t think he’s justified in feeling this way because he did after all kill someone.

Chapter 4

Although Jews were allowed only limited rations under the Nazi occupation, Vladek manages to circumvent these restrictions for a while. What methods does he use to support himself and his family?

  • He sells clothes and uses jewelry to get food and looks for jobs.

Chapter 5

How did Vladek care for Anja after the destruction of the Srodula ghetto? Contrast his behavior toward his first wife, during the worst years of the war, with the way he now treats Mala.

  • Vladek treated Anja very kindly after the destruction of the Srodula ghetto. He was supportive and treated her with great care. Vladek didn’t treat Mala well and blamed her for lots of the problems.

Chapter 6

Why does Artie call his father a murderer? Is he justified? Who else has he called a murderer, and why?

  • Artie called his father a  murderer because he burned Anja’s (his mother) diaries.
  • He is justified because that was the only way he could have known about his mother and her conditions

How to make decisions?

Hello Guys! So today in my language arts class, we read the book The lady or The Tiger and we are assigned to write about how we make decisions? So that is exactly what I am going to do!

How do you make Decisions? How do you know it’s the right decision to make?

These two questions may seem a little stressful but we have to ask ourselves these questions to judge if we have to make better decisions or if the decisions we’re making is affected our lives in a good way!
We make decisions everyday, whether it’s a really easy one or one that you have to really think about. The best way I have made big decisions is to first look at it from as many perspectives as possible and then decide a suitable action for me to make. Well for me it’s around the time where I have to apply for High schools and trust me it’s hard to decide which one you want to go in? But most importantly I decide on the one that Provides what I need to learn in order to be successful in the career I chose!
Decisions are not easy to make and sometimes it can be very stressful but always think about if you make one decision, how it is going to Affect and then Judge in order to make that decision!

Soo, I will leave you guys to that and I hope that if you have to make a stressful decision that you take your time in deciding and hope it is the best decision possible to make! With that said I will be going now.
Hope you guys enjoyed this post and See Ya Next time👋

September 2011. On Manhattan’s Upper West Side, widow Taryn Michaels has convinced herself that she is living fully, working in a charming specialty fabric store and raising her daughter alone. Then a long-lost photograph appears in a national magazine, and she is forced to relive the terrible day her husband died in the collapse of the World Trade Towers…..the same day a stranger reached out and saved her. Will a chance reconnection and a century-old scarf open Taryn’s eye to the larger forces at work in her life?
